OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
DashLX is seeking a critical thinker and self-starter to assist with machine learning model development, AI-driven data processing, and analytics integration. This is a unique opportunity to work with a small startup, utilizing cutting-edge cloud service technologies to enhance AI and ML capabilities.
For this position, we are seeking a senior-level machine learning and AI engineer who is experienced in designing and deploying AI/ML models, optimizing data pipelines, and contributing to generative AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping our AI/ML strategy and implementation.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Gain a deep understanding of our data ingestion pipeline and analytics service, which utilizes Athena, S3, Apache Iceberg, Python, Lambda, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.

Ensure that machine learning models are seamlessly integrated into the pipeline for continuous data processing.

Design, deploy, and maintain machine learning algorithms that enhance our analytics capabilities.

Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement AI/ML opportunities that drive client success.

Contribute to the design and development of generative AI applications, currently leveraging AWS Bedrock.

Stay informed of emerging trends in AI and ML to propose innovative approaches that benefit our clients.

Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to optimize data processing workflows.

Develop best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for ML & AI practices within the organization and for clients.

Apply foundational data science principles to support machine learning initiatives and ensure robust, data-driven solutions.

WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS
We are a mostly distributed workforce; therefore, you will likely be required to work from home. Hours are flexible, though you will need to be available at some point between 8-5 PST for meetings.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Formal Computer Science degree in programming, algorithms, data structures, systems design, and computational theory.

5+ years of experience in machine learning, AI engineering, or a related field.

Proven track record in designing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.

Strong understanding of AWS-based analytics technologies (Athena, S3, Apache Iceberg, Python, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EventBridge) and data ingestion pipelines.

Experience with generative AI technologies, specifically AWS Bedrock, is a significant plus.

Basic proficiency in data science methodologies to collaborate effectively with data science teams.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with streaming data architectures and tools like Apache Flink.
