Who we are

Founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, equipifi is a fast growing, early-stage SaaS fintech building the credit infrastructure for modern banking. We make Buy Now, Pay Later a native banking product by powering financial institutions with flexible financing solutions embedded within their digital banking experience. Learn more at equipifi.com.

Our team is built on experience, talent, and – most importantly, attitude. We thrive in a fast-paced environment and value infinite curiosity, a people-first mindset, and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and pride in the work we do. At equipifi, we practice radical transparency, encouraging team members to move quickly, share ideas openly, and collaborate with peers who will respectfully challenge one another as we learn, build, and grow together. Success in this role comes from the ability to adapt fast, question the status quo, explore new ideas, and ask thoughtful (sometimes uncomfortable) questions – all while maintaining momentum in service of better customer outcomes. The work we do takes a village – and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together.

Where you’ll make an impact

As Senior Integrations Engineer, you’ll lead how financial institutions connect to the equipifi platform - and you’ll own every layer of that experience. From core processors and digital banking providers to network hosts and middleware, you’ll define the integration strategy that lets our FI partners go live faster, with fewer surprises, and with confidence that the connection is built to last.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that blends Solutions Architecture with Forward-Deployed Engineering. You won’t just draw diagrams, you’ll roll up your sleeves, embed with FI technical teams, and drive integrations from whiteboard to production. You’ll also own our external API documentation and partner enablement materials, making sure every institution has a clear, reliable path to our platform.

We’re scaling fast across cores, digital banking platforms, and network hosts - Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, Corelation, Alkami, Q2, Lumin, and more. If you love mapping complex ecosystems, building repeatable playbooks, and solving the hard connectivity problems that unlock growth, you’ll thrive here. (Buckle up!)

Outcomes You’ll Own

  • Integration Strategy & Architecture Define and drive the integration roadmap across core processors (Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, Corelation, and others), digital banking platforms (Alkami, Q2, Lumin, Candescent), and network/middleware hosts. You'll map, document, and maintain the full landscape of connection types - APIs, file-based, real-time, and batch - owning both how we prioritize new connections and the technical approach for each. You know what breaks between a core and a fintech, and you build for resilience.

  • API Documentation & Developer Experience Serve as the owner of all external-facing API documentation, integration guides, and technical onboarding materials. You'll ensure every FI and partner has what they need to integrate efficiently and with minimal back-and-forth.

  • Forward-Deployed Engineering Get hands-on with FI technical teams, core providers, and digital banking partners to troubleshoot, prototype, and deliver integrations. You're comfortable on-site or embedded with a customer when the situation calls for it - because the best integrations are built shoulder-to-shoulder.

  • Scalable Frameworks & Partner Enablement Build repeatable integration playbooks, certification processes, and partner enablement toolkits so we can support a growing FI portfolio without linear headcount growth. You'll turn one-off wins into scalable patterns.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Building Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to prioritize integrations, remove blockers, and align technical delivery with go-to-market timelines. You'll be the connective tissue between what we build and how our FIs experience it. As the function scales, you'll recruit, mentor, and grow a team of integration engineers and technical consultants - setting the bar for technical rigor, customer empathy, and velocity.

What you bring to equipifi

  • 8+ years of experience in integration engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or a related technical leadership role within banking, fintech, or financial services

  • Deep working knowledge of core banking processors (Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, Corelation) and digital banking platforms (Alkami, Q2, Lumin, or similar) - if these make you scroll faster to hit apply, you may be our person

  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering API-based integrations, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, SFTP/file-based exchanges, and real-time event-driven architectures

  • Proven ability to operate as a forward-deployed engineer – comfortable traveling to customer sites, leading technical workshops, and driving implementations from whiteboard to production (yes, actual whiteboards)

  • Strong technical communication skills: you can translate complex integration architectures into clear documentation, diagrams, and stakeholder updates

  • Experience building and managing integration or solutions engineering teams (you may have held titles like Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, Integrations Manager, Integrations Engineer, Forward-Deploy Engineer)

  • Familiarity with the credit union and community bank market is a big plus - brownie points if you've ever sat through a core conversion and lived to tell the tale

  • Strong product instincts, relentless curiosity, and low-ego collaboration - you care why something is being built, dig until it makes sense, and bring others along for the ride

Your future team

You’ll report to our incredible COO, Karen Buell. (Lucky you - she's wildly intelligent, yet somehow the most grounded and humble person in the room.) This is a highly collaborative, low-ego environment where technical and business teams genuinely work side by side - shaping solutions together, not tossing tickets over the wall.
