Operations & Reliability Engineer Intern
About the role
Soraban (YC21) builds AI-powered copilots and workflow automation for modern accounting firms. Our platform helps tax firms automate client intake, document processing, preparation workflows, and service delivery.
We are looking for an Operations & Reliability Engineer Intern to support a production automation system. This role sits at the intersection of operations, reliability, automation, and customer-facing systems, and is critical to meeting uptime and SLA commitments.
Role Overview
This is a hands on operations and support role focused on keeping production environments running during tax season, with exposure to real production systems and engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Windows system administration, including daily logins, monitoring, and basic maintenance
- Reviewing work queues and investigating failures
- Troubleshooting issues, resolving what you can, and escalating when needed
- Supporting a Python based system with heavy Windows administration
- Participating in team workflows using ticketing systems, Git, and GitHub
During peak season, the role is primarily focused on operations and triage. There may be opportunities to work on application code, automation, or tooling as bandwidth allows, but operational reliability is the top priority.
