Phoenix, AZ, USA

The Camelback builds, owns, and invests in the next generation of AI-powered companies. In a world where anyone can write code, we know how to scale a company around amazing products.

At The Camelback, you'll work alongside the team that built Arizona's first software unicorn, moving at startup speed and building AI-native from day one, with real ownership over real outcomes. We're looking for Arizona's next generation of builders.

Role Overview

When anyone can code with AI, experience and design can be the difference. User expectations have never been higher, and creating differentiation has never been more difficult. Every interaction should feel seamless, and anything less feels broken. The best AI products don't make users click through screen after screen. They make the UI invisible.

This isn't a seat where you wait for a ticket, polish a mockup, and hand it off. As Product Designer, you'll work directly with Operating Partners and functional leads to shape the experience across products, brands, and go-to-market for The Camelback and our portfolio companies. One day you're designing how a user interacts with an AI agent; the next you're building a brand system or launching a campaign. You'll use AI tools to move from idea to something real in hours, not weeks.

You'll help define the experience, not just push pixels.

What You'll Do:

• Own end-to-end product experience design for AI-native software, from first sketch to shipped feature.

• Design how AI products behave, not just how they look.

• Prototype in code and AI tools, not just static wireframes, so ideas can be tested with real users in real time.

• Design brand identities and sharpen existing ones.

• Create assets that drive growth: landing pages, launch assets, campaigns, and sales materials.

• Build and evolve design systems that scale with the business.

• Work side by side with Operating Partners and functional leads to turn business problems into product decisions.

Who We're Looking For

• You have a dynamic portfolio that shows your skills and the thinking behind them: the problem, the options you explored, and why you made the call you did.

• You see AI as a way to supercharge your design capabilities, not compete with them, and you know when AI accelerates the work and when it doesn't.

• You have range. You're as comfortable designing a logo as a product flow.

• You approach your own growth like a design problem. Test, learn, refine, repeat.

• You know the simplest experiences are often the hardest to design.

• Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and collaboration skills.• You track new AI models and tools as they ship, adopt the ones that are better, and bring the team along with you.

Other Requirements

• Proficiency in core design tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop), Claude Code, and Replit.

• Able to regularly work from our Phoenix office; this is not a hybrid or remote position.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for immigration-related sponsorship, now or in the future.

• A portfolio is required with your application. Include a link to it on your resume.

What Success Looks Like

• Products that users love and rave about.

• Adoption and engagement that climb as you test and refine.

• Less friction in every experience you touch.

• Designs that do more than look good. They move the business forward.
